Swimming is an excellent way for little ones to get the physical activity needed for a healthy life. However, it is important to be aware of ways to prevent water-related health risks, such as sunburn, drowning, and recreational water illnesses. CDC's Healthy Swimming program provides information for the public and health professionals (for example, outbreak response toolkits and the Model Aquatic Health Code) on a variety of subjects.
Swimming can and should be a fun & healthy experience. Please be patient & encouraging while your child learns to swim! Always stay with child in or near the water and practice healthy swimming habits.
