Sun Safety

Babies’ skin is more vulnerable to sunburn, so special care must be taken to ensure that it is well protected from the sun. Protecting your baby from UV rays early in life will help form healthy sun protection habits later on. water wear® sun protection clothing is made from special fabric with a UV protection factor of 50+.

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends:

Babies under 6 months should only wear sunscreen on face and backs of hands. Sunscreen made especially for children, with a Sun Protection Factor of 15+ is recommended. Keep babies out of direct sunlight as much as possible and well-covered with protective clothing when in the sun.
